myth ~
he wore red white blue
with patent leather shoes
daily reported the news
when he’d fly coworkers would wonder
where he’d gone. a superficial superman
spotted at each crime on the map.
reality finds him an easy chair, his hand-
a beer. heart rate racing, pulse fast,
his cape flapping on the windy side
