Myth

The old ones talk of a mythical creature that dwells behind the grey curtain. They call it “sun” and speak of it as if they had seen it with their own eyes. What an impossible fable! A white ball that can breathe fire and dry out the soggy soil, and that shines light, brighter than this gloomy glow? Shivering, we huddle close to the speakers as if their fairy tale could warm us. 3/29/2018

Thanks, Andrea. It wasn't meant to be sci fi, but it simply felt like the sun would never come back - it has been raining for days.

What a unique write, Agnes. Short but full of enticing imagery. Folk tales are so much fun to read. I wonder if this one could even be true in light of the way people used to worship the sun.

Ooh I love this one Agnes! A fave. Fabulous poetic take on that feeling I have known well, and so expertly executed. I wrote on the subject, the only post I just couldn't edit out the "B" word without losing something. I wish you sunshine! :) xomo!
