I'd love to row a canoe through your poem and see your words alive. I used to travel to Mystic, Ct. years ago. A dreamy place in parts, away from the tourists. Your poem brought me back to that mystical place. Although it might not be the one you rhyme about, your poem was dreamy. I closed my eyes and smelled the beach, and heard it's birds. I am glad to have found this one. I enjoy writing poems about nature too.

Your Mystic River is remarkably visual in the reader's mind. Exceptional haikus indeed. I especially like the alliteration of "swirling shape shifters." Congratulations! Brian

Hi Brian! So grateful for your delightful feedback and congratulations! I love the fact that haiku centers around the face of nature and developing imagery to fit the scene. We get a lot of fog in the summer. Often it has a mystical appearance! Was fun capturing that mystique. Hope all is well. Blessings!!
