Mystery Crash
Recall a moment on Friday evening
waiting for the bus, I heard a loud bang
a car careened into a pole, debris
scattered, pedestrians stared, bewildered.
What happened? all inquired, much confusion.
various causes considered – drinking
likely, most supposed, the occupants still
inside, stunned, immobile, then one emerged –
unscathed, no injuries apparent.
Female occupant unstable, impaired
by drink or shock, indeterminate right then
the bus arrived at this juncture - this tale
incomplete – what happened next? – unknown cause.
