Notes About The Poem

MYSTERIES OF LIFE

A single drop of rain
hangs on the lip of a stone,
holding the whole horizon
in its trembling curve.

A moth circles a lantern
that has not been lit~
its wings brushing
the idea of light
that isn’t there.

A blue thread
lies across a field of dust,
untouched,
as if placed
by a hand
no one remembers.

A thought unfolds,
opening into a space
that wasn’t there
until you noticed it.
