My World Turned Upside Down

As glistening tears down my cheeks trickle, you whisper beautiful words in my ear. Precious metal band slips over knuckle, you're everything in this world I hold dear. You whisper beautiful words in my ear, never imagined us here, that's a fact. You're everything in this world I hold dear, signatures on paper to seal the pact. Never imagined us here, that's a fact, betrayal has replaced love with malaise. Signatures on paper to seal the pact, no choice now but to go separate ways. Betrayal has replaced love with malaise, precious metal band slips over knuckle. No choice now but to go separate ways, as glistening tears down my cheeks trickle. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (C) 9 July 2017 My first attempt at a Pantoum. A fantastic and emotional pantoum John. So very well written with your repeat lines and new lines so seemlessly woven. Lovely poetic expression, rhythm and rhyme. Love it!!

Thank you for the kind and supportive words, Jan. It was a really emotional write and the form was especially challenging, but I felt it would be appropriate for the subject. Thanks so much :) John.
