My words cannot express

My words cannot express

The emotional challenges 

That I have had to face

And I must confess

That I cannot continue 
to live the 
rest of my life like this

Because I have had so 
much difficulty dealing 
with all of this sadness

And Dear Lord

I know that you don’t 
like seeing me like this

But I would do anything
right now 

Just to feel a warm 
tender embrace

Because it would put 
a beautiful 
smile back on my face

And it would help 
me to rise above
this overwhelming 
sense of emptiness

Just by knowing that 
someone cares

Because it truly would 
make a difference
