My Winter Wonderland

My Winter Wonderland

As I sit and wait for the snow to stop

I watch the world outside my ball of glass

To see who is watching

To see the snow fall faster or slower.

I have no control over the snowfall

And I must learn to enjoy the shaking

That I endure at the pleasure of little hands

For I am a winter wonderland citizen

Forever in this world of water and flakes

Glistening and falling, settling until the little hands

Choose to shake my world once more.
