My Weekly Me Day

I had a “me” day on Saturday,
the kind of day I live for.
Ignoring all the have to’s,
concentrating on the get-to’s

Dirty dishes? Who cares?
Food on the floor.
Big deal.
I do not see a mouse.

Boxes? Piles? Junk drawers?
All can wait for summer.
I only have two days to get replenished
And feel refreshed.

I make the most of it
Being the most joyful, enthusiastic me
I can be. Treating myself to all “get to’s”
Worrying not a whit about any have-to’s.

It is my way, and it helps 
Monday madness not stress me in
the least.
I highly recommend it, my friends.

Maurice Rigoler April 2, 2019 at 11:11 AM My "me" day is buying a favorite wine (champagne, usually), chilling it. Then going to a new exhibition in our local art gallery. Afterward visiting a favorite bakery to select a favorite dessert for my after dinner treat, then, an hour or two before beddy-bye downing a chilled fluted glass of the bubbly.
