My Way Back To Myself

the chirping
the peeping
the warm summer day

brings me back to life
in almost every way
I dutifully ignore my soreness

a robin in flight
frantic hummingbird
quickest moves ever

a twitter and a cheep
sail through the trees
on this warm summer day

butterflies welcome me
back to my garden
my senses on high alert,

noticing everything
I am starting to find
my way back to myself.

It would be easy to write that this one is 'for the birds.' Except that it is most definitely not. It IS a profound statement of who and what you are, Caren. Two thumbs up. ~ gw

Thank you so much. I was forcing myself to write poetry and paint and try to be ME. I see that it worked. GREAT!
