My Walls

Walls of fire, Walls of water, Walls are for great things, I use my walls to keep strangers out, I use my walls to hide who I am, My clothes and everything else I wear, Are my walls, Without my walls I would be nobody, For that matter, Anyone without their walls would be no one, I love my life, But I need My walls to hide my emotions, And feelings about the Stupid nonsense that happens All the time, If it were not for my walls, Nothing would be good in my life. Hopefully, one day you'll let your walls down a bit. Though it's good to have boundaries, hiding from life deminishes joy. This is a thought provoking poem. Welcome to Poetry Soup! I hope you enjoy your time spent with us. Best wishes with your writing. Karen

I wrote a poem on this subject once - I reckon our walls are walls of defense as your poem clearly states - god bless Natasha
