My Universe

In the golden breeze that whispers from the warmest climes, Sweet balm and light bestowed upon my brow, The tender touch of you through still or restless times, Burns with passion of the past and here and now. My words sound hollow and brittle, matchstick broken, As they struggle in frustration to effectively express, The full essential rapture in their rhetoric unspoken Of your heart and soul and sex and amazing tenderness. And in the setting of the sun upon the night’s untamed desire, The rising moon a lover infiltrates the vacuum sky, Animates my heart with burnished silver phantom fire And draws the shape of you that dominates my eye. The world and all its wonders in your form encapsulate, You are the only soul and flesh in which I must immerse, And I know despite the chaos of uncertainty and fate, You become the very centre of my life, my universe.
