My Unborn Child

Impatiently I wait for thee, To make your journey out of me. So kick away my tiny daughter, Your efforts will not break my water. I cannot wait to hear your cry So that I may then apply, Sweet little kisses on your face While giving you a small embrace. And when you grow up please don’t forget To look at life without regret. Trust in yourself and you will find, Your life and mine will be combined. So for now my little one, Try to sleep and have some fun, For I will keep you safe until Both our dreams become fulfill.

A lullaby from an expectant mother to her daughter as yet unborn. I am touched by the tenderness and wisedom.

I love this one Carlos, I have given birth to a daughter so I can relate to this poem, trouble is now that little girl is 48 years old, but yet we kept her safe whilst she was in our care, even now I keep her as safe as I can, thank you for sharing and take care.......Vera
