My Typewriter Bleeds

My typewriter gushes red ink
my mind frustrates flowing verse
numbing blackened thoughts.
My fingers ready for the keys
record no words
My brain is blank…
Struggling for a true voice
boxing with imagination
Knockout!
My typewriter wins today
Tomorrow it will bleed black ink from
my calloused hands,
striking the letters like breaking
rocks in a chain gang.
