My Truth and Breath

"The Holy Scriptures are our letters from home." Quote - by St. Augustine My absolute truth, being and breath is God's truth, chiseled in my heart and soul since my youth. I believe in the Holy Bible's sacred text, admitting some revelations perplex. One must read the scriptures, then probe and question them, and devour every divine crumb. When I read the Scriptures my soul is total peace, with a spiritual inner release. The words have transcendent, ethereal spirit, that I experience with each visit. I feel strength in the bones of the holy parchment, jewel stepping stones to enlightenment. Some of the passages etched in stone in my mind, without- my life would be lifeless and blind. I inherited Bibles . . . my grandma's and mom's, with old marked pages to meaningful psalms. The oldest is grandma's passed down and down and down, I caress those pages now turning brown. ______________________ April 29, 2022 Poetry/Rhyme/My Truth and Breath Copyright Protected, ID 04-1451-706-29 All Rights Reserved, 2022, Constance La France Written for the Premier contest, Our Truth sponsor, Unseeking Seeker, Judged 05/07/2022 Sixth Place

Oh Constance, this is beautiful, a fave, I love it so much. What precious gifts, your worn and well-used Bibles. I see the heritage of God's love passed down to you in your poems. This is one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read, and that you know, is truly saying a lot. God bless you <3 ~BJ
