My Sweet Little Benjy Boy

He has long floppy ears
and a shrill little bark.
And he loves to go
for a walk in the park.
A wet nose, big brown eyes
and four little paws.
He loves and adores me
in spite of my flaws.
I don't need to hide behind
a thinly veiled disguise,
since I'm a perfect person
seen through his eyes.
I think of him as
my sweet little Benjy boy.
Adopting him into my home
has brought me so much joy.
He must have been sent to me
by an angel from above,
so that I could know what it's like
to feel tail-wagging love.
