My Sweet Indulgences

I start my day with bubbles on my skin and water nearly hot when I jump in! Replying to friends' emails makes me glow. A quickie breakfast; off to work I go! My work is pretty nice; I teach each day. I can't imagine any other way to earn my keep; my job is kind of fun. I'm sure it's not like that for everyone. I make a big production of my lunch by heating soup or popcorn I can munch while reading poems online here at the school. By 5 or 6, I'm home. My nights are cool. . . I fix a lovely dinner for my honey. My sweet indulgences don't cost much money. We chat and watch TV. I feel extremely content with things I simply do routinely! Written 2/3/15

A great routine. So happy you have a teaching situation that is enjoyable. The inner city schools in Michigan can be a nightmare. Love, daver

A nice routine . . . I have seen some of your students (video) . . . they are a fun bunch -- life and vitality they bring to you!! But where is the dog? Can't believe you left him out!! Sunflowers . . . your life is filled with much much more . . . but this little glimpse is a lovely and I breathed deeply of it's simplicity. Light and love. 7

i can so relate to this, andrea! it doesn't take much to make me content, either, and the things you mention in your poem sound very appealing to me (except the bubble bath - make mine a shower!).

I love the simple indulgences in life, too. True happiness comes when we can enjoy our everyday lives, I think. Although a vacation once in awhile does help me recharge, I have to admit! I couldn't think of anything to write for this contest except for my nightly hot tea and poetry. Maybe I'll rethink it...hugs, Rhonda

Nice to have a routine! I am off till the 9th and the lack of structure is driving me a little nuts. At work I also look at poetry. I recently had something accepted by The Mystical Muse. I sent away for a publication called Workers Write. I intend to write something about my ESL job. Nest year is the education issue so you might consider sending them a poem or a story. Peace & Love Matthew Anish
