My Story Will Never Be Told

The ship was yawing and straining

You could hear the timbers groan

The sea was a menace raging

Is this where we lose control?

The dark was falling over

The stars were looking down

The hissing and the spraying

Made me lose my feet from their grounds

I saw the eye of something

Roaring at our bow

The ship was battling over

The sea, the beast, the rage

People dying all around me

I will never forget the sound

A rope found held me tightly

The beast saw right through me

It's huge eye focused on my pitiful soul

Then the eye disappeared before me

As it sank into the great unknown

You could hear the beast moving

In the dark depths below

Was it waiting to completely

Remove me from this life as I had known?

The waves calmed the sea before me

To a graceful ebb and flow

Now stranded alone in the cold, dark sea

My story will never be told.
