My Spirit Lives

My spirit strives for attainment
of adrenaline containment
from poetry peaked sensations
fused with fulfilling pulsations.
Words score elation obtainment.

Writing is my prime sustainment,
my souls ever held entrainment.
Poetry rhymes my foundations.
My spirit lives.

How great that poem retainment
lifts my muse with entertainment.
Poetry's frequent causation
are pain spilled needs for cessation
from God's ink inspired arraignment.
My spirit lives.

How pleasing to read a poem with rhythm, rhyme and form; for which you clearly have affinity. Small point - you say ‘my spirit’; is that not the true:’I’? Well written, Cay Cay,

Dear Caycay, you created a wonderful poem here. Do you have any poems that are extra special you would like me to see? I finally need to get off here!! I am all caught up with my life (for now) but need to start dinner!!

CayCay, I really loved your poem. Unfortunately in the line "Poetry's most frequent causation" there are 9 syllables. Thanks for entering my contest. Hugs Charlie

I use howmanysyllables.com and according to them, the line is eight syllables long. I just redid it on their site and still got eight; however, manually counting it does seem to be nine to me, also. I dunno! It has always been a reliable site and what most contest sponsors recommend. Sorry Charlie!

CayCay I always give myself time to read your poems - they are all special and what I must say to you now, I read all your comments to Victor and I actually saw your soul - pure, loving, empathetic, sympathetic and vulnerable - you are one in a million and so proud to call you my friend whom I love dearly! Hugs, Jennifer.

I am deeply incredibly touched that you took time and loving effort to 'see' me. I do that, too, but don't recall anyone saying that in regards to me, not as you just did. Your comment is very special and precious to me. Thank you, Jenny - and thank Victor, too - I am blown away. Love, CayCay
