My Spell

Close the book, ring the bell
Light a candle, cast a spell
That common sense becomes the norm
And then from there all actions form
That politicians make selections
For the good, not re-elections
That judge and juries comprehend
And bring true justice in the end
That bullies in all shapes and size
See themselves through other eyes
That prejudice becomes passé
And everyone will find a way
To walk that mile in others’ shoes
And understand the life they choose
So close that book and ring that bell
Light that candle, what the hell
Nothing else has worked for sure
Maybe magic is the cure
