My Special Devotions Part two of When I was younger
"God is greater than any problem that I have."
Positive --thinker and popular evangelist Dr. Norman Vincent Peal once told
a depressed friend to go to a certain address. Dr. Peal informed his friend
he would find people who didn't have any problems. His friend went to the
local address and found the shock of his life!
Dr Peal had directed him to a local cemetery! Dr. Peal's message to his friend
was crystal clear, "Only dead people have no more problems!" Life without
problems is simply nonexistence in this sinful world of ours. Naturally as a
born again believer and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, I believe in
Dr. Peal's powerful inspirational message. Whenever I find myself faced
with insurmountable problems, I simply remember the words I wrote in
"Peace." I draw living water from the well of hope and faith that is in Christ
Jesus. "I have His special assurance,"It is never empty, nor does it ever
is in Christ Jesus. "I have His special assurance, "It is never empty, nor
does it ever run dry. His message rings loud and clear to me!" God is
greater than any problems I have!"

"Broken Promises"
"We all make promises that we later find hard to keep.
For instance, the weatherman sometimes promises good
weather, and it rains anyway." The quotation comes from
a Pennsylvania mail order company's early stage collection
letter. Their statement applies to our daily lives as well. It is
sometimes very difficult to keep the promises we make to
others.
Sometimes, we schedule conflicting appointments. For,
example I am a voter register in Washington's State's
Snohomish County. Recently, I scheduled two conflicting
to register neighbors in our local precinct Everett 67. in my
own case it was very difficult to keep the promises we make
to others.
Fortunately, I was able to reschedule one of my appointments
at an earlier time. Unfortunately, all of life's problems are not
resolved so easily.
In 1987 Pam Ewing, Victoria Principal's character on CBS's
prime-time hit series Dallas, is a familiar household word.
Recently, in their July 18-24 issue, T.V. Guide published an
article by Mary Murphy entitled "Ambition in Hollywood!
The Price These Stars Have Paid," Ms. Murphy mentioned
Victoria Principal in her article.
In 1977, Victoria promised to be the maid of honor at her sister's
wedding. Suddenly, she was offered a second reading for a part
in Dallas. However, Victoria found herself faced with conflicting
interests. Her job interview conflicted with her sister's wedding.
Victoria had a very important decision to make--attend the wedding,
or decision for Dallas. As we all know, of course, she chose Dallas.
Victoria Principal paid a premium price for her success. As she knows,
broken promises are very costly!
We have hope! Our very close personal friend, our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ, never breaks His very special promises to us! He is
willing to reunite families, like Victoria's, who have been shattered
by broken promises.
We must be willing to accept His help. If we continue to be harboring
resentments ,waiting for an opportunity to avenge ourselves, the
reunion will never happen. If however, we are willing to forgive and
forget, the reunion will be marvelous!

Lo Angel was my mother's younger sister,
who passed away before my mother did.
MILESTONE
Showed two pictures of Aunt Lo and Uncle
George on their wedding day Jan 15, 1955
and how they looked when their picture
was taken 50 years later in 2005.
Angels mark 50th wedding anniversary
Lo and George Angel will
today celebrate 50 years of marriage. The
Angels married in Jan. 15, 1955, in a cer-
mony held in Edmonds. They have been
part-time Freeland residents for over 30
years and full-time residents of the island
for over five years. Celebrating this mile-
stone with them are the couple's children
Christine and her husband Tom Millott of
Bothel, Linda and her husband T.J. Shilley
of Puyallup and Tracy and her husband
Nick Morigi of Algoria. The Angels also
have five grandkids.
The couple's children plan to celebrate
and honor their parents with a reception.
Lynn, Brian and Dale are deceased with only myself and
maybe my youngest brother Mark still alive.

(Although they sent us this letter inviting my mother and I, we did not
attend because we could not afford it and for personal health reasons.
My mother, Eleanor May Dubarry died on June 04, 2007.
My maternal grandmother's maiden name was Ethel Evans.)
Hi everyone,
Here is a short note to let you all know about the family reunion planned for next year.
The reunion will be held at Ken & Linda's (nee Shaw) Dyck's farm which is located west
of Bowden, Alberta, Canada. More information and a map will be provided in the next
letter in January 2005.
Date July 7-10, 2005
Some activities being planned
Blindfold feeding your partner chocolate pudding
Pie eating contest
Hay wagon ride
Swimming at the nearby lake (Glennifer Lake/Dixon dam)
Fishing at Glennifer Lake for those wish to (license and equipment required.)
Baseball
Pit barbeque
Auction (cash only)
Playground on site for little kids and other activites.
There will not be any tenting fees, or are there any hookups. Showers can be had at
Red Lodge Park (more info to follow). We are looking at renting some portable latrines,
may require a small fee from each family, further information to come.
I do not have everyone's address or email address. I will be sending out a hard copy of this
letter to those whose addresses and send them to me at the following address, it would be
deeply appreciated. I hope to have an updated list of everyone for the reunion.
Rob Shaw lived in Alberta Canada, but I have no more contact with him. After Great Great
Great Aunt Iloe Evans died at age 106, the Evans family had no more reunions. She never considered herself to be old until she entered her nursing home at age 105 and died at the
ripe old age of 106. Even in her later 90's she had more energy than much younger people.
She stayed young and active because that was her life's philosophy...
