So many poets have come and gone from this beautiful site,
and each has left some kind of mark upon my soul;
but there is one poet, who for me will be forever in my heart,
and that is Linda-Marie our Sweetheart of Poetry Soup.

Rest in peace Linda-Marie, my poetic friend,
I weep, and then I must smile when I think of you;
you were such a good friend to me for so many years,
so thoughtful, so warm, and filled with compassion for all.

Like a budding flower our friendship bloomed in time,
and like a perfect rose it was called beautiful;
we always said to each other-   no matter where life took us
we would be connected but I could not go to Heaven.

You had many thorns in this life- now you are a bird set free,
an angel spirit drifting here that still touches my soul;
oh, you were the essence of a perfect true blue friend to me,
we were sisters in poetry and we are entwined still.

That was aweome how you put her very last line of poetry at the end. It fit there brilliantly. I have heard several times of Linda-Marie; unfortunately she was not around when i joined soup in 2014.
