My Sorry Goobye

Boyz 2 Men were right
It’s so hard to say goodbye
That’s the song the DJ plays
Inside the back of my mind
As I walk up to your granite stone
And read your name carved out in grey
I begin to daydream about
What it would be like if you’d had stayed
But this time I didn’t come to reminisce
I came because I have something to say
It’s been 20 years since that fatal day
But I still think about it every single day
As if your soul left your body
And got lost in my brain
So I have something to tell you
And I’m going to try not to cry
But it’s time to let you go
It’s time to let you fly
I just came to tell you that I’m sorry
This is my sorry goodbye
