My Song

"My Song"

My song is like a bird who cannot sing
It cannot fly because of its broken wing
The notes come softly down on the ground
When they hit you do not hear a sound
Someone so broken, and so true
Can make you just turn so blue
So just this once hold her tight
Then she might start to go back on her flight

Life can be hard for those who feel life, but a tragedy is when one gives up hope. Setting small achievable goals can be enlightening when you achieve them. There are two paths from a tragedy, one is an easy path and the only reward is it was easy. Take the other path... ~ Peace

Courtney, Sad, powerful and deeply personal. The ending so hopeful. I was deeply moved by the imagery and sincerity in the tone of the poem. Keep writing and I'll keep reading what you write. Richard

The bird can sing/ But will not/ The bird can fly/ But dares not/ Caged by those/ Who care not/ Now is time to find the key/ and fly away to liberty / Find inside yourself the power/ This is your defining hour/ Little bird/ I hear you sing/ This is the place /to mend your wing........Keep singing little bird.
