My Son Brandon

So fragile, silence consumes the room entirely
Without signs of life as my eyes looking upon you for the first time
Your eyes closed
Listening to hear a sound any sound
I pleaded, please take my life away
To hear your cry, to know your life begins
This day, this month, this very moment August 22
How I've waited, anxiously for you to feel me
Holding you in my arms
For your first sight to see
The love I have for you looking into my eyes
The first tear begins to fall
Down against my face
Forcing my heart to never beat again
Until that moment so beautiful
Words could never express
Your voice singing to me
A precious gift, my sons life
Today begin's
