My Sleeping Heart

my heart is asleep
my soul wide awake
my voice sings
yet my heart dreams on

the pines and cravens of a sleeping heart
haunts and taunts my spirit
for i have been to a land
a land i cannot comprehend
felt things i cannot explain

so be good to me
oh vast, but fearful mind
stop your search
and find a way
to awaken my SLEEPING HEART...

I am reminded of the fears of my own youth, when I was too young to know that fear is more not knowing than anything. Today, your poem indeed reminds me that we are not alone, and somehow we always find the way to awaken our sleeping hearts. Nice poem, Wendy.
