My Sleeping Babies

I never killed my demons I only put them to bed With closed eyes They appeared to be dead For to kill them, would destroy my fight I want to always keep them, well within sight Because you never know what tomorrow brings Or what is lingering, or what may sting So I keep them silent, keep their eyes closed Crossed arms, temporary, in a death pose I never want to awaken, but don't be mistaken They are only steps away from being shaken
