My Sleep

MY SLEEP
I'll hear you out, if you've some things to say,
but in my lifetime, it's been said before,
well meaning words of hope, that all's okay,
if I just take the time to think some more.

Can you not see, my mind's not all that sound?
Yes I have known some time, I'm not all here,
but somewhere far beyond where death is found,
there is a part of me I once held dear,

and I can hear it calling to my mind,
to come and see the light few comprehend,
and flow in cosmic dust, where I may find
what life's held out on me up to my end.

And as I fall my last, into my sleep,
I pray it's soft and warm, and long and deep.
