My Seventy Years

My Seventy Years... I woke up, on Wednesday morn, and couldn't believe, That it had been seventy years, since I was born! I know that the Lord smiled on me, For there were days, when living, that long, I could never foresee. I am grateful, for every day, Thank you mom and dad, for teaching me how to pray! I have had good times, as well as bad, I have had days when I was happy, and others, when I've been sad. But, the Lord kept me, without a doubt, When I would wallow in despair he would bring me out . On him, I've learn to trust and obey, And he's the only reason, I'm here today! My family and friends have helped me through, This life, wouldn't be the same, without ...ALL of you. It is a privilege to have lived this long, I've learned, that what doesn't kill you, Will indeed make you strong! Many of my friends, withered Along the way, So thank you God, For another blessed day. It matters not... the number of years you live, But what you do, And , what you're willing give! Give a smile, a hug, or simply a kiss, Put these things on your Christmas list. For, being CHRIST-LIKE, is what Living is all about, Being filled with his love, makes me want to shout! I'm not as strong or vibrant as I used to be, But God, is always here for me! I'm reminded of what my grandmother used to say, Her words, I still hear today... When asked how she felt, She'd simply reply... I can jump, but not high, I can flutter, But I can't fly! And now that my physical being, is not always it's best, And As I require a lot more rest, I know, that I'm truly blessed! This old body, may be growing frail, And my ship might float, but not always sail, I know....that GOD, is the reason, That I stand before you, in my seventieth season!
