My Self Worth

My
Freedom
Was taken
Not by someone
From within myself
Relinquished by just me
Drowned by my own selfishness
Provoked by order for others
Lies told to myself to save others
Though, I protected my fears and self worth

Much to think about here--about choices/about life in general. Nice use of this challenging form. Thank you for sharing your poem with us and for your kind words on mine. Have a good day! Karen

Very wise words, but your introspective writes always make me think you are too harsh in judging yourself, Cecil. If only you could see yourself the way I see you. Love, Carolyn
