My Reluctant Acceptance
My dear cat had always been a perfect lady
up until cancer gnawed at her insides.
She remained sweet
but sometimes howled!
She had onced purred contentedly on my pillow,
but she began to hide beneath the bed -
behavior most foreign to my lady!
I sorrowed for knowing what needed to be done.
Why let my desire to keep her
confine her soul to misery?
Relunctantly
I just let go. . .
