My Release

Today I lost a battle that for years I tried to fight, now all that’s left is for me to say
goodnight.
.
No longer will I fight this is my destiny, I’m sure my time has come now I know
loved ones will miss me.

I lay here in this coffin my final resting place, no longer among the living will you
ever see my face.

Some say that death becomes me because my life was very trying; while they are
all standing here at my funeral crying

If I could just let them know this for me was best, after all my hardships it is my
time to rest.

Beaten, battered and bruised is how I lived my life, maybe with my story told I’ll
help to lessen someone’s strife.

Shed no more tears for me because I am at peace, I see my Savior waiting at
last I feel release.

Share my story with those that need to hear they’re not alone, before it’s too late
for them and their maker brings them home.

So many out there need to know that they can leave, all they need to do is trust in
themselves and just believe.

For all of those who shared my pain while I was still alive, I’ll sit here with my
Savior and watch you as you thrive.
