My Recollection
it happened on the 7th of July
a perfectly normal day
that now sticks up
like a rusty nail
a forever ache
if it had been on a regular day
it would have faded away
like many others
nothing special
to make it memorable
but, of course
I recall each minute
of that evening
the months and years go by
time does fly
but that date will never
leave my mind
the evening that broke my heart
