My Reason For Being So Honest

My reason for being so honest
means to put aside all the rest...
regardless of how painful it was,
despite how you believed my lies! 

You wouldn't hate me
for what I did and said;
you understood my weakness,
you missed my hugs on cold nights,
your hope was an ardent flame that never died...
it couldn't be put out even by a troubled sea!

Can forgiveness instantly change
my bad habits and give up a foolish affair
and remain your sweetheart forever?
Can one formidable kiss end all your rage?

My reason for being so honest
means to put aside all the rest...
regardless of how painful it was,
despite how you believed my lies!

Spend more days with me
and discover the new man in me,
encourage me to be true and strong,
never swaying from my commitment,
feeling every emotion and every thought
I failed to express when all seemed dark and vain;
look to me for guidance and before long
happiness will find you and take away your pain!
