My Purpose In Life
When I was eight I had a reoccurring
Dream that happened every night for
A year. I kept adding on.
I could not wait to fall asleep.
I had built an orphanage
For children.
I taught them to
Sew and cook.
And I have
Never liked cooking.
But they did.
Every night I could
Not wait to get to sleep
To see what I was adding
To my orphanage farm.
We added lots of animals
And an art studio and
A newspaper office.
We had so much going
On! After awhile
We added babies.
Lots of babies.
As the babies
Grew up
We taught
Them to embroider,
But not knit.
I never learned to
Cast on, so knitting
Was out. I could not
Wait to close my eyes
That year.
Every night was a
New adventure.
Then one night the
Dream epic abruptly
Stopped.
But
My life’s purpose
Has continued.
I have led a life
With children
And babies.
I have taught them
To sew and embroider,
But not knit.
I have rescued
A multitude of
Animals from
Captivity. I have
Taught all of my
Charges to be nice
To each other, to
Play, and to have fun.
My students are
Not orphans, but
Some are close to it.
I am their go to person
To show them what they
Need to do or say to
Make a friend and
Keep a friend.
I have had many
Friends come to
My house and
Play with me in
My art studio,
So in a way,
I guess I am
Living my dream.
And probably
Fulfilling my purpose.
