My Profile Pic Memories

Being brought up in the country
living in a farm cottage so white
an only child adopted as one
many memories always in my sight

Always had animals around
also, garden hut with many a hen
my job was collecting eggs
such greenery makes it a certain ten

Across from our house a swing park
where I learned to soar into the sky
also a chestnut tree grew nearby
in its season fell from up high

The river Irvine flowed at our back
often walked alongside its shore
then threw a stone to make a ripple
imagine the sound being a mighty roar

Sat on the front step quite a lot
especially when its summertime
so good looking back on these days
makes me ponder on life full of rhyme

(Just thinking of my new profile pic, which is of our house where I was brought up in my school and teenage days, brings back many memories of life at that time.)

Childhood reminiscences are so sweet. Sometimes a picture of the old times can bring a train of memories in us. I can visualize a small boy collecting eggs from the chicken coop or walking along a riverside, throwing stones into the river to cause ripples. I love poems that bring in me some childhood memories. Stay blessed dear friend

MEMORIES WILL ALWAYS BE LOCKED AWAY IN OUR MINDS AND HEARTS, AND RECALLING THEM BRINGS BACK SUCH JOY OF OUR CHILDHOOD, OUR TEENAGE ERA, AND THEN THROUGH THE VARIOUS ERAS OF OUR ADULT LIFE. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS. GORDON, MY EVER PRESENT MISTAKE! Hugs and blessings,Jennifer.
