My Prayer of Hope

Lord, I come before you to ask a favour
Or to bargain for a friend
She has given up the fight, Oh Lord,
And justifies it as the end.

So I offer that little piece of heaven
I have been so praying for
So she’ll most want to laugh with me again
Unless I’m just not wanted anymore.

Then take all the good, Father,
On this earth I’ve ever done
To remind her of my love
And it’s like her I’m trying to become.

Finally Lord take my life for her’s
For it is unknown how long I will live
So like her why should I try, but I will
Because it is all I have left to give.

I agree with Diane, Brenda. A beautifully crafted prayer in the guise of a very elegant poem - Simply charming! A seven! My best regards. :) john

Miss Hope (a kind of Robinson) who never gives up. Do you know the story of Plyana, a little girl who teaches everybody the game of happiness?
