My Prayer For Ann

patiently I have sewn
smaller and smaller circles
chanting a prayer,

to protect you
on your journey,
to carry you
through the tough times,
its the sound of nature
I send to soothe your pain,
and to bind you
in our love.

I cast this net,
hoping to bring you
back to us

and as my last stitch
threads through,
and wings are attached
to my heart,
I spirit it away
to rest with you
until you return,

smiling in our eyes

for a friend battling Cancer ... shes been a tremendous
support to me through my own illness
