My Prayer

MY PRAYER
                                        by BambiLynn '78

How sad are the people who walk the street
How poor are those with nothing to eat
How loved are the children whose parents fight
How mean is the dog with the known bite
They say we should be happy for what we've got
But those who say it have got a lot
God give me the strength to ignore the greedy
And look away from eyes so beady
Let me see the beauty of those who stand tall
And live for my pride, not my gull
