My Poems Are Not For the Rich Or Famous

My poems are not for the rich nor famous,
shall I tell you why? I believe there're not interested
and that makes me sigh.

My poems are for the ordinary guy, who loves
reading about events not in the sky. Who
wants to dream of every day events.
That takes them far away from their circumstance.

The rich and famous have so much.
And don't seem to bother with us.
But the every day person knows what it means
while they scatter along looking for their dreams.

Its not enough to just have dough.
One wants to be able to spread it so.
My poems are for you and me who care about
what's in the sea, land and air. While making it
their business to save the hemisphere.

For every day we get to live, reminds us that it's a gift.
We know the simple things we do, and dedicate to fellow
beings like you.

So, read my poems to find your light. You
everyday people for whom I write.

You've found a reader here, Marilyn. I consider myself 'everyday people,' hearkening back to Sly and the Family Stone's hit by that name. We are the extraordinary ordinary! Thanks for posting this. Best wishes, Gershon

As you may have read, my friend lost his battle. Here's hoping your husband has a better outcome. Thanks for reading.
