My Personal Grief
Steel walls surround my mind
Keeping the thoughts of betrayal and loss away
Forgive me for not openly weeping in your name
But I grieve via strength, aware of the past
But focusing on the future
I cannot bear to relive the anguish of losing you
The anguish of my thoughts, fears, diminished hopes
Just let me live in this perennial vice
I'll revisit these thoughts some other time
But today, I do not have the strength
Believe me when I say I love you all the same
Just let me grieve, in my own way
