My Perfect Sunset
With eyes closed, I dream a perfect sunset-
reflected in the aquamarine sea,
and interlaced with blue and crimson waves
that undulate and flow so wild and free.
Sun glowing watermelon-tangerine,
hangs low, framed by a lemon-saffron sky,
and lines of coral streaking twilight blues-
relates, another day has bid goodbye.
Soon, eyes awake to sense my real world-
sun shining pale against dim skies of blue.
Dusk has come, and from the open window,
scents from lavender lilacs seep through.
No rolling sea mirroring great sunsets-
only a lavish lawn that sprawls and flows
with wind forming grassy, chartreuse waves.
My perfect sunset- only dreams disclose.
