My Partner
You've been beside me for many many years
growing older
like yellowed pages in a book
and you are comfortable to me as
I watch you sit watching TV
You're like a warm summer day at the beach
when the tide is way way out
and the azure sea sweeps the sand like a painter's brush
lovingly stroking across the canvass
You are the bright shining star that
bursts forth in the blackest of nights
a beacon illuminating my path
to home.
And I love you
so very very much-you are my heaven and my earth.
