My Panacea
The winds of thoughts blow through my mind
Of troubled times I want to leave behind
With the force of a hurricane they blow
But the memories, they refuse to go
I would like to forget it all and move ahead
Shed thoughts of grief and be happy instead
Wake up one day and see the sun shine
Bask in the light of happiness and make it mine
But every thought of mine is reflective of my past
Every single thought is a nightmare meant to last
That is omnipresent like the darkness in a black hole
Absorbed into every tiny ion of my soul
When my thoughts run wild I run to you
I cling to you, like a child with resources few
Trying to gather strength from the warmth of your bosom
Like a tiny bud that is desperate to blossom
You hold me in your arms like the mother I need
Forgiving me for every action of mine, every misdeed
Reassuring me that my life will soon be better
That I am destined for glory and things bigger
Your eyes shine bright when you look at me
Giving me the strength to be just me
Your smile, your kind words just cannot be described
For me you are just what the doctor prescribed
