My Opinion

You wake up often in the morning,
deep bruises, redness on your cheeks.
Your confidence level softened,
Once strong minded, now weak.
Yet, through all this punishment
which you've done nothing to receive,
you stand by his side, smiling.
I sit back and watch in disbelief.
For years we have had this friendship
and for years held nothing back.
So, i hope you that accept this,
my opinion.
I can only hope you turn your back...

Jared, I wanted to comment on this the first day that you wrote it, but I couldn't bring myself to do it...I've been reading it for several days and thinking about this...I want to say that I understand, but everyone's circumstances are different...so let me just say I'll pray for this situation...You wrote well my friend...as always...Marty

Jared, Sadly, all too often women find themselves in this sad and destructive position. But for some reason, they keep gong back. At least these days, protective services are available to help women and children in need. But the adults have to be willing to do as you hope-- turn their backs, walk away, and get the help they need from social services in their community Services "Hide" them from their abuser until decisions and legal actions are in place. Good of you to support her. Lovingly.

Such a touching verse, I too know a woman in this position most of us do if we are to admit it. They must free themselves and all their friends await the freeing! As a verse it is very powerful..I am soup mailing you! Light & Love
