My One True Love,

My Darling, I fear my time is near and there are some things I must say. I have loved you from the first time I set eyes upon you across the room. Even though my heart was breaking I cried tears of sorrow and of joy at the same time for I lost the love of my life while she gave birth to her love of her life. Now I never remarried for you made my life complete.I watched you grow up and change from a little girl into a woman and if I stay I know I will only be in the way. I am bed ridden and can't even take control of my pipe so what good would I be when the grandchildren come in to see me. I look off in the distance I can see her. She smiles at me and she still looks like she did the day she went away she told me she would wait for me so don't delay. I hesitate to leave you my love but he did ask for you hand and I hope he's a good man. If he doesn't treat you well he better know your parent will be looking down to see all below.
