My Old Truck

For years I’ve had an old dodge pick-up truck
It sits in high grass in my far away backyard
She was a great prop for fun family style portraits

A very classic look for rustic type kids portraits
But now there’s no seat to sit in the truck
So she sits with the trees in the very far backyard

Kids and birds love to play in my wild backyard
Once an owl perched on the mirror for some portraits
And blended in with the peeling paint on the truck

That old truck still rusts in my backyard for great grungy portraits

For great grungy's sake! A pick-up in the backyard rusting away. Country living at its finest. (Have you got two new pick-ups parked on the front lawn? LOL). Nice one, Jeanne. :) gw

Enjoyed. I can visualize. In my childhood i had seen a vintage car of our neighbor to sit idle for whole year but to participate in old-car race.

How fun to do a old car race...mine doesn't even have an engine!

I used to have an old Thunderbird sitting out back too next to a country store "set". I'm on two acres and had a portrait studio for 25 years here. Just retired and moved to Mexico last year and will sell the place next year probably. I love the owls, deer and other wildlife that still comes through.

I would have loved to see that owl perched on there; I am wondering if it was dusk? Great imagery!

Actually, a grey morning threatening rain. Usually his mate is close by but not that day. I didn't get the photo either!
