My octopus

glimmers in silver
and gold sequins
that I placed one
at a time with glue
in the sea
of a hard white
 canvas.

The glue took
over three hours to dry.

Do not swim
away from me!

The waves are
water, so you
cannot hold them
and every shade
of blue offers me
creativity.

I used various
shades of soft
charcoal, splashes
of water color
here and there,
and the sharpies define
where the water
starts and where
the air and sky
begin.

I like the way you talk to the octopus. After all, it is your creation to do with as you please. Excelsior! ~ Gershon
