My Oath

If by my life I protect you
Then my death will be worth the pain felt in it too
If by my actions I stop the evil from spreading from afar
Then the effort will spread kindness to others not marred
If my words sooth those broken by life
Then let them record our triumph from the pain and strife
And the oath that I have taken remains quite clear
Keeping those that I love safe and happy without fear.
