My Oasis

In sinking
Alone in
My oasis
Found a patch
Of quicksand
Got beauty +
Water so I bought
The land
In hopes of a
Good wife
To follow
Me back
And start a family
Just when it
Seemed things
Were going so good
I wonder
What was it
That got me damned
